WHAT ARE WE LEARNING ABOUT?

What's the big idea?  What are we learning about in these areas of study?  In our Best Practice's Math course, we often discuss the CMI (Core Math Idea).  It is important to discuss the CMI with your students because it makes learning transparent.  With a CMI, your students know what the "big idea" of a lesson is.  Will it be about patterning?  Adding one?  And so on.  Then it occurred to me...wouldn't this make sense for all subjects?  So... I have created this bulletin board to remind students of the CI (Core Idea or Big Idea) in every area we work in!  From time to time I will post photos of this board so you can see our "big ideas".
