The other day we had our first 4 Winds class. Jada and Becky came in and taught us about the forest floor. We had a scavenger hunt and even ate "dirt and worms". See the November Calendar for more information on 4 Winds.

How Do You Make Brown?

The question was: How do you make brown? Students paired up or tried on their own to make the best brown they could. It was interesting to see how each team went about doing so. Some dove right in and mixed all of the colors together. Others took care to dip their brushes, mix, observe, and add what they thought would make it "browner".

BROWN DAY!

FILLING BUCKETS WITH KINDNESS!

Today our class read the book above. It is a book about "filling" peoples' invisible buckets with kindness (actions and words). Each one of us carries around an invisible bucket that hopefully is filled by others or by ourselves (when we do something kind). There are also bucket dippers who try to dip out of our buckets and steal our good feelings and thoughts. We are practicing being bucket fillers and are doing a great job so far! I HIGHLY recommend checking this book out of a library or buying this book to have around. It is a wonderful way to remind EVERYONE about how kindness can make someones day! Please ask your child about this book and brainstorm ways you all can be bucket fillers! Have you filled a bucket today?

COLOR DAYS and RAINBOW JELLO!

PEEKING AT THE NEW CLASSROOM!

WE ARE SO LOOKING FORWARD TO OUR NEW CLASSROOM! HERE WE ARE PEEKING IN TO MAKE SURE EVERYTHING IS GOING AS IT SHOULD. JUST A COUPLE MORE WEEKS AND WE WILL BE PARTYING IN OUR NEW ROOM! YIPPEEEEEEE!

FALL SCAVENGER HUNT!

WITH CLIPBOARDS IN HAND, WE HEADED OUT TO LOOK FOR SIGNS OF FALL! THE STUDENTS WERE VERY SERIOUS ABOUT CHECKING OFF ALL OF THE ITEMS ON THEIR LIST. THEY WORKED IN TEAMS OF TWO AND HELPED EACH OTHER FIND EVERY ITEM. IT WAS GREAT TO SEE THE TEAMWORK AND ENTHUSIASM!
