GLITTER TATTOOS and COCONUT TREES!

For one of our classmates birthday celebrations, her mom came in and did glitter tattoos!  They looked super cool!  Thanks to this mom!

As part of our "Chicka, Chicka, Boom, Boom" study, we all turned into Coconut trees!  They are certainly the cutest coconut trees I have seen!

OUR GARDEN'S BOUNTIFUL HARVEST!

Did you know that H.C.S. had a garden?  Did you know how bountiful it was?  Check this out!

Trying samples from the garden!  Yummy rainbow carrots and purple peppers!

MATH TIMES at H.C.S.

The other day I brought in my collection of beach glass to show the kids.  During "Calendar Time and Morning Meeting" we have been "collecting" Unifix cubes as part of a counting activity.  I brought the glass in to show one other type of collection someone could have.  After sharing the glass, I decided to use in in one of our math stations (instead of pennies).  The kids LOVED it!  They were very engaged in the counting and sorting activity!  If anyone has any beach glass they DO NOT want, please consider donating it to our classroom!!!!

WHAT ARE WE GOOD AT?

Annabelle Swift is a book about a Kindergartner that is really good at counting.  After reading the book to my students, I asked them to brainstorm about what they are good at.  Their responses were pretty cute!

I WILL PLAY THIS VIDEO FOR MY STUDENTS TOMORROW, AS I REMIND THEM TO "BE HAPPY OF THEMSELVES" AND TO NEVER GIVE UP!

COLORING OUR OWN "SCHOOL SHOES"

Pete the Cat rocks in his school shoes and so do we!

MEET PETE...THAT'S PETE THE CAT!

The first few days of school were spent reading Pete Cat books!  Pete is a groovy, chill, cat that always says,  "It's all good".  After reading his books, we completed fun activities inspired by Pete.

BUT THEN...Pete crept into our classroom and left a note in a book I read to the class.  From there we (along with Mrs. Johnson's class) were off to find Pete, checking in every corner of the school.  No Pete, but lots of fun!

Reading Pete's note!

The search is on!

Mrs. Johnson reads a clue in Ms. Sertz music room!
