MEASURING ASSISTANCE

At the beginning of the week we went to Mrs. Stanton's class and had our height measured.  It was part of research they are conducting on Kindergarten, 2nd Grade, and 5th Grade height.  The students loved visiting the classroom!

The yellow sticky notes are Kindergarten the blue are 2nd Grade.

Mrs. Stanton explains that they will measure the 5th Graders another day.

Just a few from Shelburne Farms!

Yes, I almost got arrested for "lamb-napping", because this baby ram was so stinking cute!  He was only a week old!  The following pictures are of just a few kids, so if you have others from our field trip, please send them on so I can post them.  Thanks!

This is "Lady Gaga...the chicken that is!

HOW TO WRITING!

With partners, we investigated "How to" books.  We even tried our hand at drawing some of the items in the books.  This activity was in support of our "how to" writing theme that we have been working on.  I am amazed at how well the students are doing when writing their pieces.

WALKING AT SCHOOL DAY!

Lining up for our walk on "Walking at School day".

The kids were given cool shades to wear on the walk.

It started raining so we finished our walk up and around the middle school...even through Mr. Lasher's classroom. His smart board read a message to the kids and they couldn't believe it.

MY CLASS ROCKS!

Which one of these rocks floats?

Testing them out..

The rock on the top, (white and black) is the one that floats.

What happens in vinegar?  Bubbles...lots of them.

HARD AT WORK IN THE WRITING CENTER.

I am thrilled to see the writing going on at the writing station.  Thanks to all who donated envelopes and cards.  We are making great use of it all!  The students also love delivering letters to people around the school.

One to Ms. Miller!
