KEEP ON ROCKIN' IN THE FREE WORLD!

For the next two weeks we will be studying Geology (rocks)! The students have loved it so far. We have rocked out to our "rock" song (ask them to sing it) and made our names out of rocks.

In our reading groups we read a book called Rocks, which talks about the rock "life cycle". We also have enjoyed playing games with our rock collections (see them collecting them on the sunny day pictures below). I am excited to see how interested they are in learning about the earth and rocks!

We have a sixth grade buddy that helps out in our class and she even got into the rockin' fun by creating a rock game for the students! (see her below)

I also wanted to put a picture of my favorite rock book up too (see the picture of Everybody Needs a Rock). It was written in 1974 and is a wonderful book about the 10 rules of rock collecting! ROCK ON! (Enough with the cheesy rock humor)

TASTING PARTY!

Today we held our tasting party! Mrs. Johnson's class joined us as we closed our eyes and guessed the food! It was so much fun and the students were able to guess every item! They really used their sense of taste! Here are some entertaining pictures of their reactions! Most of these pictures are from when they tasted the lemons! You can see why.
