We had some exciting and mysterious visitors yesterday! LEPRECHAUNS! We found glitter footprints, golden chocolate coins, and a magic potion that started out white and turned green when you mixed it with magic liquid. According to the gang, it was delicious but I wouldn't know because they didn't leave me any!
We also worked VERY HARD building our leprechaun traps in teams of two or three. It was truly amazing to see five and six year olds working harmoniously together for a straight hour. It is cognitively normal for children this age to only want to put in place their ideas, however this "building time" proved nature wrong! My students were listening to one another, taking turns, and really spending time understanding how all of their ideas could work. It was so exciting to see!
